At PagerDuty, we have been heavily focused on developing our Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations (AIOps) solution. This has involved a lot of investment in our platform and a continued commitment to ensuring it delivers value to our customers as quickly as possible. With that, we’re delighted that Gartner named PagerDuty as a Representative Domain-Agnostic AIOps Vendor in its 2021 Market Guide for AIOps Platforms.
AIOps isn’t an IT magic wand, but it sometimes works like one. One day last fall, our IT ops team was heads down on a major cloud migration project. Coined by Gartner in 2016, the term ‘AIOps’ refers to the combining of big data AI and machine learning to automate and improve IT operations processes. Back then, this very broad definition led to some confusion, with different IT vendors characterizing AIOps differently, depending on what they were actually offering.
