We are happy to announce that we have released a brand-new SCOM Management Pack for monitoring Citrix Desktop as a Service (DaaS). Citrix DaaS is a Citrix Cloud service that allows you to securely deliver virtual apps and desktops from on-premise data centers and public cloud platforms in a hybrid deployment.

We know there are a couple of dashboard solutions for which integration with SCOM can or could be created. However none of them integrates better and more easily than SquaredUp Dashboard Server for SCOM. It integrates with the SCOM platform out-of-the-box, leverages the SCOM object model to the fullest and is very easy to create dashboards with. For most use cases you do not even have to create dashboards, as the product comes with many out-of-the-box community dashboard packs.

Citrix monitoring refers to the ability to monitor Citrix services end-to-end. It includes the ability to monitor user experience – from logon time to application launch time to screen refresh latency so administrators can easily monitor and track if they are meeting their service levels (SLAs).

Citrix Hypervisor, formerly known as Citrix XenServer, is a type 1 hypervisor that enables organizations to run and manage an entire virtual infrastructure—including VMs, virtual desktops, and virtual applications. Organizations can also use Citrix Hypervisor to optionally host these virtual workloads with higher availability and flexibility by implementing managed server groups called resource pools.

Citrix environments can be highly complex with multiple back-end components like Storefront, Netscalers, Delivery Controllers, FAS, License servers, Cloud Connectors, and databases. And the front end can be equally complex with VDA’s running in different parts of the world and the cloud and on-premises hybrid. With all this complexity, it’s essential to have the correct troubleshooting, monitoring, and self-healing automation tools.

Citrix ADC plays a central role in Citrix environments and its performance impacts the user experience. Therefore, the availability and performance of the Citrix ADC appliance are crucial. The new Citrix ADC Management Pack is a complete monitoring solution providing deep visibility into ADC performance. It extends the end-to-end service monitoring capabilities of Microsoft SCOM to include the Citrix ADC infrastructure.
