Getting Github Data with Webhooks (Part 2)

After my last blog around sending Github Data to Splunk via Webhooks, I received a healthy amount of feedback that I want to address here. I learned that (unsurprisingly) a lot of customers are curious about, or dependant on, other cloud platforms out there. In fact, I heard directly from some customers who specifically cannot use any other cloud platforms than one in particular that was not highlighted in my last blog.

Sysdig: Introduction to Instrumenting Apps with Prometheus

Prometheus, the second most popular project at the CNCF, has a large and growing ecosystem. If you're a developer looking to get some quick graphs from your application, it's not always clear where to start. At first, it can seem like a daunting task, but by following some simple examples, you can get up and running in no time. In this webinar, Brian Brazil, author of "Prometheus Up and Running" and long time developer of Prometheus will walk you through the basic steps to get started instrumenting applications with Prometheus.

Sysdig: Getting Started with Prometheus Exporters

With Prometheus, you can collect and examine data from not only Kubernetes itself, but also from the applications. This is one of the reasons it is so popular. For applications that you write yourself, you can instrument them directly fairly easily. But how do you get data from your packaged applications like web servers, databases, and messaging services? In this webinar, Brian Brazil, author of "Prometheus Up and Running" and long time developer of Prometheus will show you how to find and use exporters in order to make monitoring your applications and services a lot easier.

Sysdig: Deploy Faster by Automating Container Security, Monitoring and Compliance

You want to quickly move container apps into production without sacrificing visibility and security. The need to embed security, monitoring and compliance into DevOps workflows is clear, as it helps teams ship cloud apps faster. How can you get started without slowing down your developers? Join us and the co-founder of Dutch telco, KPN, to hear their experiences in ramping Kubernetes production workloads. And, we'll share the five core workflows that you need to confidently ramp cloud-native workloads in production.

Unfolding the Twitter security incident

In case 2020 wasn’t dystopian enough, here’s some more unbelievable news. On July 15, 2020, social media giant Twitter admitted it fell victim to a security breach. The attackers targetted 130 Twitter accounts, including several belonging to high-profile individuals such as elected officials; former president Barack Obama; and business leaders including Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and Elon Musk.

Instrument your Python applications with Datadog and OpenTelemetry

If you are familiar with OpenTracing and OpenCensus, then you have probably already heard of the OpenTelemetry project. OpenTelemetry merges the OpenTracing and OpenCensus projects to provide a standard collection of APIs, libraries, and other tools to capture distributed request traces and metrics from applications and easily export them to third-party monitoring platforms.
