Our Sr. Product Manager, Taylor Johnson, attended Cisco Live EMEA in Amsterdam last week, and here are his top five takeaways from this amazing event.

I’ve always been wary about vendor events. In my experience, many of them are mostly marketing pitches, with little or no content that is applicable to my use cases. Despite that, last year I decided to convince my manager to let me attend ObservabilityCON 2022 to see what I could learn from it. My hope was that I would be able to get practical knowledge that could be applied as soon as I got back to work. (Spoiler alert: I did!)

2023 started with a boost of positive energy after attending my first CES EDGE23 federal event sponsored by the GBEF (Government Business Executive Forum). As a sponsor of this year’s EDGE23 conference, I represented ScienceLogic as a co-moderator to a very relevant and thoughtful executive round table on navigating the challenges associated with ‘Continuous IT Modernization’.

In November/December 2022 I attended AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas. It was certainly an experience for this small town kid from New Zealand, and one that I took a lot away from. While I was at the conference, I took the time to walk around and take notes. After two years of virtual and reduced-size events, AWS re:Invent was in full swing for 2022 with over 50,000 attendees — more than double 2021’s in-person attendance. Among the many new service and feature announcements, there were two themes that resonated (re:Sonated?): event-driven architectures and cloud-powered innovation. These uniquely position AWS partners to accelerate their customers’ business transformations.

AWS re:Invent has come and gone. A great deal of fun was had along with many new insights shared. Here’s a recap from some ScienceLogicians who were in attendance.

What do you get when you throw 50,000 attendees together with Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi in Las Vegas? Lightsaber battles and demos from Cribl Jedis fighting for the liberation of customer data from vendor lock-in, of course! AWS re:Invent 2022 was a total hit this year and we had such a great time showcasing to AWS customers how easy it is to realize the full potential of the cloud by unlocking data first. The week was full of exciting new launches, talks, happy hours, and more!

Amazon recently concluded their five-day long conference, AWS re:Invent 2022. This year’s conference was hybrid with the company streaming a significant portion of their in-person conference for free. For ten years now, the event has seen attendees across the cloud continuum come together to learn, share and get inspired. This year was no different as we saw some of the biggest names in cloud computing make their presence felt at the conference in Las Vegas.
