RapidSpike the web and real user application monitoring, analytics and security solution based in Leeds have appointed Gav Winter as their new Chief Executive Officer.

A few customers mentioned they were looking at moving away from services such as Slack for their notifications and wanted to use Microsoft Teams instead, due to the integrated nature of the Office 365 platform. It sounded like a good thing for us to offer, so we now integrate with Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.

RapidSpike Connect Anything (RCA) is my favourite least used product. We use it for loads of stuff internally, but it often gets overlooked by our customers. But as a developer, whenever I see a slightly obscure API, I can’t resist having a play with it to get the data into RCA, just to prove we can monitor anything.

We’ve added the ability to receive Pushover notifications for all our services. Our notification system already supports Slack, email, SMS, voice call, PagerDuty and webhooks, but following feedback from our customers we felt Pushover provided extra functionality for smarter notifications.

WordPress may power the majority or the internet, but Joomla! is the second most popular CMS on the planet, representing 6.1% of all known CMS websites. So we felt it was important to integrate it directly into our external website security and vulnerability scanner. Sitting alongside special checks for WordPress, Drupal and SilverStripe websites, we scan potential issues with the core version of Joomla! and any plugins installed.

Just as news hits of two highly critical security vulnerabilities in Drupal – a popular open source CMS that powers 4.2% of known CMS websites – we have expanded our external Vulnerability Scanner yet again with Drupal specific security checks. This morning we launched a new update for the RapidSpike App. This update includes a totally new Dashboard experience for our users. Our old dashboard – or “Home” screen – featured a number of fairly static graphs and charts showing your account usage. We felt that this screen was badly in need of an update to show off the cool and exciting facts and figures RapidSpike can generate.

The founders of RapidSpike built, managed, and successfully exited from a leading UK Security Company called RandomStorm before launching RapidSpike. One of the main areas that RandomStorm excelled in was Penetration Testing and the founders of RapidSpike have recently launched Pentest People to once again provide Penetration Testing services to the worldwide market.
