Joomla! CMS Vulnerability Scanner

WordPress may power the majority or the internet, but Joomla! is the second most popular CMS on the planet, representing 6.1% of all known CMS websites. So we felt it was important to integrate it directly into our external website security and vulnerability scanner. Sitting alongside special checks for WordPress, Drupal and SilverStripe websites, we scan potential issues with the core version of Joomla! and any plugins installed.

Drupal Security Scanner - Just in Time for Drupalgeddon2

Just as news hits of two highly critical security vulnerabilities in Drupal – a popular open source CMS that powers 4.2% of known CMS websites – we have expanded our external Vulnerability Scanner yet again with Drupal specific security checks. We now offer peace of mind for anyone with a WordPress, Joomla!, SilverStripe or Drupal site, as well as checks for thousands of known software and configuration vulnerabilities for all major software products and operating systems.

Introducing Dashboard Widgets

This morning we launched a new update for the RapidSpike App. This update includes a totally new Dashboard experience for our users. Our old dashboard – or “Home” screen – featured a number of fairly static graphs and charts showing your account usage. We felt that this screen was badly in need of an update to show off the cool and exciting facts and figures RapidSpike can generate.

Penetration Testing from RapidSpike

The founders of RapidSpike built, managed, and successfully exited from a leading UK Security Company called RandomStorm before launching RapidSpike. One of the main areas that RandomStorm excelled in was Penetration Testing and the founders of RapidSpike have recently launched Pentest People to once again provide Penetration Testing services to the worldwide market.

WordPress Security Scanning

With WordPress powering over 30% of the internet and a plugin ecosystem that allows anyone to write software which will execute code on your server, it’s no wonder that it’s become a popular target for hackers. As part of our Vulnerability Scanning service – which already checks for thousands of known software and configuration vulnerabilities for all major software products and operating systems – we now also test over 10,000 known WordPress vulnerabilities.

Vulnerability Scanning with RapidSpike

The latest addition to the ever growing Security Monitoring tools from RapidSpike is the ability to perform Vulnerability Scans of your external facing servers and web applications. Cyber Security is a massive area of concern for every website or web application owner and ensuring that your applications and servers are free from vulnerabilities is critical in ensuring the ongoing availability of your service.

Uptime Monitoring Response Timeout Alerts

In the age of the modern website architecture where websites experience little downtime, slow is the new down. A slowdown on a website has been proven to have a negative effect on conversion rates and end user experience. With that in mind, we’ve updated our uptime monitoring to alert you to slow response times.

Upgrade AWS Elastic Beanstalk from PHP7.0 to PHP7.1

The AWS Elastic Beanstalk Console currently allows you to change between minor platform versions (e.g. from 2017.09 v2.6.1 running PHP 7.0 to 2017.09 v2.6.2 running PHP 7.0), but doesn’t support changes between major versions (e.g. from 2017.09 v2.6.2 running PHP 7.0 to 2017.09 v2.6.2 running PHP 7.1).

What do Conversion Ratios have to do with Site Reliability?

You have no doubt heard of Google Analytics and will be familiar with conversion or goal tracking. If you haven’t, it is a method used to measure goals and KPI’s. That is of course the well known use case, but very often we see web teams using conversion tracking to also identify site problems. Many eCommerce teams will monitor their sites sales conversion ratio and if it drops they will instinctively know that there is a problem.
