Cloud ERP arrives as the new holy grail of ERP architecture: a composable, flexible and scalable collection of core business services working together to meet enterprise ERP needs. Of course, getting there for a large enterprise with significant existing complexity across legacy SAP implementations isn't a trivial task. Much has been written about S/4HANA migration, but less explored are the benefits of automation solutions used for the regular operations of SAP to migration projects. These solutions offer a number of accelerators and benefits to migration projects and SAP teams, so it is worth exploring.

SAP AWS hybrid cloud is a mixed environment consisting of a combination of on-premises infrastructure, private cloud services, and the public cloud - e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS) - with the ability to exchange information between different environments.

"Do I need to monitor SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition?" is the question many SAP customers are asking right now as projects are going live. As an SaaS product run by SAP, customers get access only through a public website, and SAP are responsible for the availability of that website and the hardware resources. Cloud Foundry is possibly the most popular environment on SAP Business Technology Platform. When customers build applications with the SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) framework to extend SAP S/4HANA solutions and achieve a clean core, they typically deploy using Cloud Foundry. After the applications on Cloud Foundry go into productive use, they become business critical and that creates a need for observability in those applications and the platform. Monitoring of Cloud Foundry is now an essential requirement of SAP operations teams.

Whether you're making a local client copy in the same system to create multiple test or training clients, copying a client from a remote system, exporting a client from one system to another or exporting it in order to later import that client post a system refresh, SAP's client copy tools have been a mainstay of SAP BASIS operational and project teams since the 1990s. The end is near! That's right, mainstream support for SAP ECC will be ending in 2027. While this is fairly well known what is less obvious is that this also includes support for SAP Solution Manager. Let's be honest though, the functional end of life for Solution Manager happened quite a while ago.
