Amazon EventBridge buses allow you to automatically kick off numerous events; for example, you can use them to start Lambda functions, run ECS tasks, or start and stop EC2s. By integrating Datadog with EventBridge, you can kick off these automated events based on your own Datadog alerts. To do this, simply add your desired event buses to the Amazon EventBridge tile in your Datadog account. Then, you can indicate your event bus targets directly in the “Say what’s happening” box of your Datadog monitors.

Now, whenever alerts are fired from those monitors within your Datadog account, they will send events directly to your AWS event bus, kicking off your automation pipelines. This can be used for starting Lambda scripts, restarting servers, and more, allowing you to build powerful auto-remediation logic based directly off of the data captured in Datadog.
