Can I Make Comments in ServiceNow Incident Tickets with xMatters? - Ask Adam

Jul 22, 2021

Don't settle for those default comments the integration makes in ServiceNow. Get creative and make your own comments in ServiceNow incidents. Say what you need to say, whenever you need to say it and however it should be seen!

There is more help on using this step here: https://help.xmatters.com/ondemand/xmodwelcome/flowdesigner/servicenow-steps.htm

Remember to start your comments with
and end with
Then you can put any HTML in that you want.

When creating a link back to the xMatters event construct the URL as: ${Incident Alerts - xmatters_url}/xmatters/app.do#TrackingReportPlace:eventUuid=${Incident Alerts - event.id}

Don't forget to give the user the 'itil' role, which is required by ServiceNow, any other role will give a 404 NOT_FOUND

If you haven't got the ServiceNow integration yet here is everything you need: https://help.xmatters.com/integrations/itmgmt/servicenow.htm

Let me know how you go in the comments or talk with me and others on the xMatters community pages. I'd love to hear any ideas you have for more videos, anything you're working on or anything you have done but would have really liked to have some help with! https://support.xmatters.com/hc/en-us/community/topics
