Velocity Git Metrics with GitKraken

Velocity Git Metrics with GitKraken

Nov 12, 2021

Video Description: Git Velocity is a set of Git metrics and data that can help you and your teammates work more effectively with Git and each other. The purpose of collecting and using these Git metrics is to ship quality code more frequently with fewer bugs.

In this session, Jeff Schinella, director of product at GitKraken, will cover 4 key velocity Git metrics:
Throughput: How often code is successfully pushed to the production environment.
Lead Time for Change (Cycle Time): The amount of time it takes a commit to get into production.
Change Failure Rate: The percentage of deployments causing a failure in production.
Mean Time to Recover: How long it takes to recover from a failure in production.

The team at GitKraken is exploring ways to provide these types of Git metrics to development teams, and use them internally. We are in the early stages of designing and building a Git metrics service. During this GitKon Git conference session, Jeff shares the GitKraken team’s initial designs, ideas, and functionality for in-app Git metrics.
