Datadog on Informed Product Development

Datadog on Informed Product Development

Aug 1, 2022

Datadog is an observability and security platform. That means that our users may be in a high stress situation: debugging an issue in production, managing an incident or responding to a security threat. Having a good UX is particularly critical in those cases.

User interviews are very helpful, but after a product has been released in production we are able to gather a lot more data to understand how customers interact with it and make decisions about how it can be improved.

In this session Ara Pulido, Developer Advocate, chats with Derek Howles, Staff Product Designer, and Miranda Kapin, Senior Product Manager, on how they use telemetry data, collected from Datadog customers, to make informed product design and development decisions.

They explain the process they follow, the type of data they take into account to make product decisions, and how you can collect and leverage telemetry data to improve the products you are building.
