Field of Dreams DevOps. You know, if you build it, they will come.

If you built the right tools, you know, in general, you could get the right behavior. So we saw a lot of our customers try this in kind of the late twenty-teens where they went out, they brought in a tool, they brought in an enablement center and they said, "Hey, this is a great idea. You should do this."

And then they just kind of hoped that the right thing would happen. But really what we found is, that was a little spotty. The SRE team might be experts and they know exactly what kind of failure modes they wanna create and how to do them, but, you know, two levels down on an engineering team that's barely on call or hasn't had to do a lot, you know, that the SRE team has done...

They struggled. They weren't really sure what tests to run. They weren't really sure if their system responded correctly, and we saw at the company level, teams really struggled to coordinate and to scale these efforts.

You need the Chaos Engineering. It's important, it's a valuable tool, but you need some process and structure around it. And so we built something that's really an extension of the original Chaos Engineering tooling that we called Reliability Management.
