If I were to offer advice to organizations aiming to improve their reliability posture, I'd recommend embracing the changes and looking at the reliability across five Rs. Readiness, resilience, recovery, responsiveness, and reinforcement. Readiness: preparing in advance to anticipate and address potential challenges or disruptions. Resilience: building the capacity to withstand, adapt to, and quickly recover from adverse situations.
Recovery: implementing actions to restore normal operations and minimizing long-term impact after disruption. Responsiveness: reacting swiftly and effectively to emerging issues or changes in the environment. Reinforcement: strengthening systems, processes and capabilities to prevent recurrence and improve future performance.
By focusing on all of these, organizations can build or improve reliability posture that not only avoids or reduces downtime, but also builds trust and supports long lasting business successes.
