The latest 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Unified Endpoint Management Tools report has been published! Here at Ivanti, we’re excited Gartner recognized us in the Leader quadrant for completeness of vision and ability to execute. 2022 marks the first time we’ve been recognized as a Leader, after Gartner named us their only Visionary in the UEM Magic Quadrant for 2021. But what does being named a “Leader” or a “Visionary” by Gartner really mean?

It is often the case with innovation that the return on investment is unpredictable or too long to justify an investment. In a recent study by MHI and Deloitte, "Supply Chain Disruption Fuels Investments in Technology," supply chain industry leaders identify the lack of a clear business case as the number one barrier to adopting innovations. Across all eleven innovative technologies the study examined, the responses were the same.

Last year, we announced our partnership with the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to work on the Implementing a Zero Trust Architecture project. After a year of collaboration with its industry partners, including Ivanti, NIST recently released its preliminary draft, NIST Cybersecurity Practice Guide SP 1800-35 Vol B, for public comment.

A recent news report shows the federal government is struggling significantly more than the private sector when recruiting new employees. Axios reporter Emily Peck writes: “While the number of private-sector jobs surpassed its pre-pandemic level, there are 664,000 fewer people employed in the public sector, according to the government jobs report released .” Peck speculates this disparity can be attributed to the inflexibility of government work.

With an increased shift to hybrid and remote work environments, IT teams have had to adapt their support models to meet the evolving needs of their organization at a rapid pace. For most IT organizations, the programming effort required to customize less flexible software solutions to meet the changing demands of the business can often be expensive and slow-moving.

Now that the world has embraced the long-term shift to the Everywhere Workplace, what do workers really think about it? That’s what we sought to find out with an ambitious survey that led to an eye-opening rendition of our annual Everywhere Workplace report. It also led to a big award.

Business objectives for IT management have fundamentally shifted. Traditionally, organizations imposed a heavy-hand over the types of IT resources their workers employ and how they will use them. However, over the past decade or so, a growing awareness has supplanted these antiquated approaches suggesting technology should conform to the needs of the workers, rather than the other way around.

As the world enters the post-pandemic era, employers and IT teams face a variety of new challenges. Some should be high on the long-term priority list. Others need to be addressed immediately. Here’s a snapshot of what we’re facing: Addressing one or two of these challenges isn’t enough. Success for the Everywhere Workplace means IT navigating all these challenges – and more – simultaneously amid considerable uncertainty.
