2018 has been a momentous year at PagerDuty. We spent the past six months accelerating the development of many new PagerDuty product innovations, and have released a variety of updates and enhancements across our digital operations management platform and mobile applications.
A year ago, I introduced a new Slackbot, fondly known as Donut, to PagerDuty. When I interned in San Francisco last summer, I was looking for ways to meet people who weren’t on my team, in my department, or even in the same office as I was. Randomly messaging employees in the Toronto office or on the Sales team seemed like a little much, even for someone like me, who enjoys taking occasional strides outside of her comfort zone.
It’s no secret that PagerDuty’s robust and ever-expanding integrations ecosystem and highly engaged partner community help drive value for our customers. In addition to updating existing integrations to keep up with new product features and adding new IT tool integrations, we’re busy working on new ways to connect our shared customers to unique solutions.
It’s 2:37 a.m. on a Tuesday night, you’re asleep—but it’s also your turn to be on call. You receive a phone call from PagerDuty. Your partner hits you with a pillow in an attempt to wake you up. It worked. You groggily answer the call and hear your favorite robo-guy on the other end of the line.
SAN FRANCISCO – July 16, 2018 – PagerDuty, a global leader in digital operations management, today announced that it has expanded its collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is now available on AWS Marketplace. This enables AWS customers to purchase subscriptions to PagerDuty more easily and quickly.
The other day, a newer Engineering Manager here at PagerDuty, Dileshni Jayasinghe, started a Slack thread expressing joy at how fantastic our engineering team is after attending a conference with engineering folk from other organizations. She explained that she’d shared our practice of owning what we build with someone—who then responded by gazing off into the distance and saying, “That’s my dream.”
In the entertainment world, building enterprise apps involves many challenges, such as compatibility with numerous devices and large files like HD videos, along with streaming media to millions of users simultaneously. But today’s entertainment apps are possible only because of a modern approach to software delivery—DevOps brings greater efficiency across the development pipeline.
It’s pretty well known that we live in a connected, always-on world where seconds matter when it comes to customer happiness. There are smaller incident management solution providers that offer what looks to be competitive pricing—but it’s important to consider the bigger picture outside basic alerting and incident response.
As a long-time security professional, I’m always interested to hear about how companies like Datadog are keeping up with the changing security landscape. I can recall when the security organization was solely responsible for security, and we were focused on protecting the perimeter of our business. However, with the advent of the cloud, mobile, and web applications, that perimeter has disappeared.
SAN FRANCISCO – June 7, 2018 – PagerDuty today announced PagerDuty Event Intelligence, a new product that builds on its market-leading digital operations management platform. Event Intelligence analyzes both incoming digital signals and human response patterns (such as when and how alerts are resolved by responders) and uses automation to identify issues quickly, enabling teams to take action on critical software issues and opportunities.
